You might have a bunch of hot looking images, but they are worthless unless placed well. This guide will teach you some advanced image placement techniques.

Placing Images on your Shirt Design

Although many shirt designs tend to be just single images uploaded from a users hardrive, people also oftentimes wish to create elaborate designs consisting of multiple uploaded images. However, oftentimes it's difficult to position the multiple images in good positions which compliment each other. Here are some tips to get your images looking good on your design.

Depending on what your image is, you may want to place it in either a more logical manner or a more artistic manner.

For instance, solid color clipart is very open to abstractness. You can rotate the images and overlap them at will and they will rarely actually look bad. However, a digital photograph of a mountain range requires a dedicated canvas as well as stillness to look proper on the custom t-shirt. When it comes to those pictures which require a logical placement, you should base the rest of your design off decorating the main image or images.

However, if your clipart uses a large number of images then you can be more open to artistic display without letting your design look unprofessional. The more number of images your design uses, the more opesnly artistic you may be with it.

If you give seperation to your images to try enclose them in a border or give them other designs inbetween them. The reason for this is, if you only have 3 lone images spaced far from eachother people will not be able to notice your full design. They'll only be able to look at 1 image at once because the others are so far away from it. If you give it a border, people will be able to see it as 1 image better. If you put more designs in between the image, it will also allow people to see it as one image and focus more on the center of it.

Changing your images to a single, or small palette of colors makes your design look more professional. A noticeable set of colors looks very good if you can pull it off.

Be creative with your text. Try using a rotated line and a flat line to display your caption for your image(s). Text creativity looks good and can look very cool when used well.

Hope this helps, good luck in all your custom t-shirt endeavors.
